Nolan Hubbard plays the Barnyard Stage
We are so thrilled to have Nolan Hubbard play the Barnyard Stage on Saturday during the August long weekend!
Nolan Hubbard is a multi instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, teacher and performing artist from Gananoque Ontario. He has spent the last 8 years writing songs, recording and releasing music, playing over 900 shows, touring across Canada and loving every minute of it. Nolan has recorded as a session musician for many various artists including Devon Cole and Your Paris, and had his songwriting used in the 2022 indie film “So I Married Myself” and had a debut album “Luminosity” played on CBC Radio 1 and local stations across the country.

Benj has always been surrounded by a captivating ensemble of musical instruments, including the bouzouki, tenor guitar, hurdy-gurdy, accordions, and a foot keyboard synthesizer, Benj Rowland creates a mesmerizing sonic experience that beckons audiences to immerse themselves in his world of music. As a self-described "community-trained" musician, Benj approaches folk music with a deep-rooted reverence for tradition, having honed his instrumental and performance skills within the vibrant tapestry of his culturally rich upbringing. Hailing from this musical heritage,
Benj's compositions reflect an amalgamation of various influences, such as Celtic, Cajun, Old time, and Balfolk. After an extensive journey spanning over 15 years, during which he was a member of various musical ensembles, Benj embarked on a solo career following the release of his 2022 album, "Community Garden," produced by Joel Plaskett. Throughout his career, Benj has shared the stage with a plethora of renowned artists and contributed his musical talents to numerous albums by fellow musicians.

Chris Gostling plays the Speakeasy
Chris Gostling has been storytelling through songs for nearly 30 years. A multi-instrumentalist based in Eastern Ontario, his singer / songwriter’s style pays homage to folk, roots-rock and Americana veins while remaining a unique sonic offering.
On October 4th, Gostling released his sophomore full length album, "Forest City Town Country”. Recorded on Wolfe Island in Kingston, with the musical support of Hugh Christopher Brown, Jason Mercer, Liam Cole and Craig “Rocky” Roberts, the album sonically crosses genres from indie-folk through alt-country soulfulness and beyond.
"Forest City Town Country" is an evolution of Chris’ songwriting, and storytelling. He writes about experience, either personal or from witnessing other people's lives. From overheard tales through the thin walls in apartment buildings, to a reflection on a last family vacation as a kid, to the concept of enduring grief and the seasons that we seem to feel it the most, these songs start as catharsis and become a shared experience when played for others.

FABB is coming to Karlo's barnyard.
Free Association Blues Band (aka FABB) seamlessly blends the traditional blues canon with spontaneous jams and pure energy that will amaze and entertain. Formed when the earth was cooling in the late 80s in the music mecca of Kingston, Ontario, and recently reformed to packed houses and press in that fair town, the members of this party propellant bring a pedigree honed by decades of touring and session work to every single stage they hop up on to. Come and witness what it’s all about. Your heart, soul and body will thank you.

Mike Farrell - lead vocals, guitar
Known in The County as the host of Mike in the Morning on 99.3 County FM and fronting The Sophiasburgh All Stars, Mike’s history goes back to Kingston and the band he co-formed there with 3 other members of FABB, The Pariahs, who were mainstays of the Golden Horseshoe rock scene for years, touring the UK twice and sharing stages w the likes of Teenage Head, The Tragically Hip and The Ramones.
Scott Megginson - bass, back up vocals
An original member of The Pariahs and Wild Blues Yonder. Scott runs the band because he’s good at giving orders, and laying down exceptional grooves all the day long. He humbly takes over bass duties from original FABB bassist, Joe Chithalen (The Mahones, Weeping Tile, JOYY), dearly departed.
Ian (Loaf) Woodward - lead guitar, back up vocals
Loaf knows the ins and outs of guitar-land so well he has a lifelong golden pass. Les Pauls are his favourite axes, and he wields them with chill intensity. (The Pariahs, The Commotionaires)
Bonz - drums and percussion
Known everywhere he has lived and played as one of the best drummers around (including Toronto and Kingston), and a consummate showman, Bonz delivers love and heart to every single beat he lets loose. (The Pariahs, Dead Root Revival)
Spencer Evans - keyboards, clarinet, lead and back up vox
Spencer Evans defines the term local legend; he is so commonly known as the king of all things music in Kingston that he appears on the city’s welcome sign on the 401. He has been , and continues to be, lead player in countless bands of his and others’ making. A day does not go by where Spence is not frantically pounding the keys, singing w abandon and generally serving the role of a musical shaman.

These two met when they starred in Shatterbox Theatre's adaptation of Spring Awakening and have been inseparable ever since, so much so, they are newly weds. Nolan Hubbard is a multi instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, teacher and performing artist from Gananoque Ontario. He has spent the last 8 years writing songs, recording and releasing music, playing over 900 shows, touring across Canada and loving every minute of it. Nolan has recorded as a session musician for many various artists including Devon Cole and Your Paris, and had his songwriting used in the 2022 indie film “So I Married Myself” and had a debut album “Luminosity” played on CBC Radio 1 and local stations across the country.
